Bedroom Paint Colors
Choosing the right bedroom paint colors will give your toddler's room the backdrop for the rest of his belongings. There is a wonderful of choice of bedroom paint available and it's an opportunity for you to create the perfect atmosphere for both play and sleep for your toddler. Your toddler is likely to have a strong opinion of what he likes so try to include him in the decision making and then you can get it right for everyone. If he is a young toddler and not yet speaking then see what color he is naturally attracted to - does he tend to want to wear one color, or does he choose the same colors when he is painting pictures? If you don't want to use pastel colours throughout then consider using a plain light colour on the majority of the walls but add a splash of bright color on say, one wall, or if you have built-in shelves, then color on the back walls of the shelves. If you mix strong colors with pale tones you will still be able to keep a fresh feel to the room. If you use only bright colors the bedroom will appear smaller than it is. Unisex bedroom paint colors for a toddler's bedroom are: - light yellow
- dug-egg blue
- light green
- azure
- apricot
The above bedroom paint colors will make an excellent background for colorful accessories. Unisex colours are also what you need if you have mixed siblings sharing a room. Bold colours to contrast which can work well on one wall are: - cherry red
- turquoise
- royal blue
- sherbet yellow
- cornflower blue
Bedroom Paint Colors For Girls- pink and white: Pink can be gorgeous and it definitely does not need to be sickly or twee. If your daughter loves pink, as so many little girls do, then choose a light pink. You could also keep it very neutral by only using pink half way up the walls and then using cream for the upper half of the walls. If you do this, be sure to measure accurately around the room so that you made a very neat finish. You could also then have a border of little flowers where the two colours meet.
- light apricot: This is a very warm and cosy colour. Again be sure to choose a light shade otherwise the room will feel smaller. However, you'd need to co-ordinate the wall colour with the bedding and apricot does not match every colour.
- green: This is a soothing colour for both boys and girls. Providing it is in a light shade it also matches most other colours.
- yellow: This is a sunny colour and will add light and freshness to any room.
- cream: This can be in a warm tone and can be brightened with colourful pictures and accessories.
If you choose very light coloured bedroom paint you can very easily add colour to to the walls through bunting, pretty models such as butterflies and flowers and framed pictures. When sticking anything to the wall avoid using blu-tack as it leaves a greasy mark, and white-tack slips off over time. String, and nails are the best way to hang things in a bedroom. Bedroom Paint Colors For Boys- blue: a light blue with contrasting darker blue walls is warm and can create a sea like theme
- green: this can be refreshing and energising
- orange: warm and cosy
- yellow: sunny and calm
Boys can tend to be more boisterous than girls and if your toddler is a very energetic little boy you may want to reflect this in the color of his room by having funky bright colors. You can then tone it down using painted floors in a light contrasting color, or my adding light coloured pictures onto the walls. Before you choose your bedroom paint colors you need to have explored your toddler bedroom ideas in general as if you choose a theme that will narrow your options of your bedroom painting ideas. Also, keep in mind using wallpaper as you buy gorgeous wallpaper these days or you can use both paint and wall paper to create interest and also simplicity. Have fun and your toddler will love his new bedroom! Toddler Bedtime Tips Home Page Back To Bedroom Design Ideas Top Of Bedroom Paint Colors
