Get your bedtime routine sorted

by Helen
(Christchurch, New Zealand)

It's a tried and tested method so nothing new but we have found that getting our little one into a bedtime routine has really helped with getting her off to sleep.
From a very early age we went through the same process of dinner, then bath, then some quiet time and on to the bedroom for some milk and a story with dimmed lights and some soft sleep songs gets her ready for sleep.
We pop her into bed before she's asleep so she has learned to fall asleep herself which has helped in the long run as now at 13 months old she can put herself back to sleep should she stir in the night.
