Girls Bedroom Ideas

Here we have just girls bedroom ideas as little girls love their own space and their special bedroom. Toddler girls are beginning to really show their preferences and their bedroom is a great place for you to let them have some say in what they like, whether it be their favourite colour, animal or theme.

Lots of little girls love pink and a light pink is often the favourite choice for a girl's bedroom. The shade can vary so much from a very light pink such as shell to a deep pink such as raspberry. Or perhaps your daughter doesn't love pink! Then she and you can choose a lovely light shade of her favourite colour.

Whatever colour you choose you do not need to paint the whole room in the same colour. You could have one colour half way up the room an then the second tier could be cream. This makes the room warm but not overwhelming. We've listed decorating ideas at Kids Bedroom Decorating Ideas.

Another idea is to use wallpaper with pretty motifs of flowers to make your girls' room very pretty. If you use wallpaper, use it possibly only on one wall as it can make a room feel smaller than it is. Toddler's need space, or at least, a feeling of space, as they have so much to process every day. You can give even a small room the feeling of lightness, freshness and spaciousness with the right colour and embellishments.

Girls Bedroom Ideas: Clothes Storage

There are so many lovely little girls clothes to buy! And you may need a built-in or freestanding wardrobe so you can hang up dresses and pretty clothes. If you have a free standing wardrobe you may need to screw it to the wall so that there is no risk of your toddler climbing on it and pulling it over...

At the bottom of the wardrobe it can be handy to have little boxes at the bottom for shoes and accessories, which seem to mount up very quickly! If there is not enough room for a wardrobe then you could have a wall-mounted shelf with a peg rail beneath. A pretty peg rail with pretty dresses and little bags can be very decorative in a girls bedroom.

And a mirror is a must have as part of your girls bedroom furniture. Children love to look at themselves and especially as they learn to dress themselves they enjoy seeing what they look like.

It's a good idea to let there be the opportunity for your little girl to add her own bedroom decorative accessories. She may have her favourite doll or cuddly toy who she'll like to tuck up in their own little bed or cot. And she may want that right next to her own bed. Or she may have been given some flowers or accessories by a friend that she will want to hang up.

Girls Bedroom Ideas: Wall Decoration

Bunting and/or fairy lights is a very pretty addition to a little girls' room. It can almost an add a festive air to her little space.

Pictures add personality and interest and most little children love pictures of themselves and of their family! Having pictures of their smiling loved ones around them helps them to feel secure and cosy in their bedroom. Frame the photos and have large enough photos so that your toddler can easily see who's in the picture and where they were taken.

Butterflies and flowers added to the wall are very effective and pretty. Displaying some cuddly toys on shelfs are decorative and make the room very cosy.

Older girls often love their own space and you could use string suspension wire with a pretty voile curtain to divide the bed area to make her own den.

Girls Bedroom Ideas: Flooring

Little girls (and boys) love somewhere cosy to sit. Toddlers often sit on the floor to play and look at books. However, they also love their own mini sized chairs and beanbags. Cushions in contrasting colours are great for both rough and tumble play as well as just relaxing on. If you have wooden floor rugs add a sense of softness and snuggness to a room.

Depending on how much space you have in your house you may need to store a lot of toys in your toddler's room. There is a lot of storage ideas available at Home Storage Ideas.

At the end of the day it feels good to tidy away the things in her bedroom so that your toddler will have floor space for the next day of adventures.
