Party Games For Toddlers
Knowing what party games for toddlers will work is a bonus! Organising party games can be tricky and you want to know what everyone will like. Toddler parties can last around 1.5 and up to 2 hours. After this time, toddlers get tired and want to go home. Here's a rough suggestion for your party: Guests arrive (music and bubble machine on) Depending on how many guests, you can open some presents Play 2 or 3 games Eat the party food and sing happy birthday Free play Home time with little party bags (treasure hunt optional!) Traditional Party Games For Toddlers: Pass The ParcelThe children sit in a circle. 8 children is an okay number - if you have a lot more then make two circles as children will get restless waiting their turn. You turn the music on and pass the parcel around. When the music stops whoever has the parcel takes off a wrapper and gets a little treat. The music starts again and on the parcel goes around the circle. The parcel is made up of the same number as children in the circle. When you are preparing the parcel have the main prize in the center with a little lollipop and blower or a hooter. In between each wrapping have a little lollipop or sweet and blower. Make sure you carefully wrap up the parcel with each layer having the goodies - it's very easy to turn the parcel over and then at the end of packing the parcel you find a lollipop on the floor! And then you have to find out which layer has missed it's goodie....or have a few spare to hand out if necessary. You will need adult help for this game. Some children will need help unwrapping the parcel and maybe help to remember who the parcel has landed with. Party Games For Toddlers: Musical StatuesEveryone dances to music. When the music stops everyone stands like a statue - toddlers sometimes do not stand like statues so you need to be lenient. If someone moves a lot then give that person a sticker and a little sweet. They are officially out but they can still dance and the sticker will show you who's in and who's out. The winner gets a prize. Children love dancing so it's always fun. Party Games For Toddlers: A Treasure HuntKids love treasure hunts! They're easy to organise and it's a great way to fill a little party bag. If it's a sunny day, whilst the kids are having their party food, ask an adult to nip out into the garden and scatter goodies all around the garden. Goodies could be little sweets and lollipops, little presents such as little toys, hair grips, pens, sticker sheets, soaps, etc. ideally wrapped up in shiny, attractive paper that will catch the sun. All the children find the treasure and pop it in a basket or box in the middle of the garden. When all the presents are found you share out the presents and put them in their party bags. If it's a rainy day then you can hide the treasure around your house. Party Games For Toddlers: BubblesHaving a bubble machine at a party is an instant hit and creates an exciting party atmosphere. As soon as the guests arrive have some music on with bubbles streaming into the room. The kids will love jumping up and popping them. Bubbles are somehow always magical and they're always a winner. To be honest, you don't need many toddler games - just a few to add to the party feel. There are lots of other party games you can play but in our experience toddlers want to play the games they already know. Toddler parties are really special as you don't get many - soon your toddler will be having more grown-up parties. Have fun and enjoy!Toddler Bed Time Tips Home Page Back To Toddler Games Party Games For Toddlers
