Toddler Bed Sheets

If you have a toddler bed you will need toddler bed sheets and just like you, your toddler needs to be comfortable, relaxed and contented to get a good night's sleep. You need to choose bed sheets which will be comfortable for sleeping, practical for washing and making up the bed plus attractive to your toddler.

There is a huge range to choose from. You could buy the sheets as part of a bedding set, or alternatively you may already have some bedding items and just need to top up and buy some fresh toddler sheets.

Everyone has their own preference for fabric. We would suggest 100% cotton with around at least 200-400 thread count so that it is soft, practical and can be used throughout the year.

Toddler Bed Sheets Sets
Best Baby Buy sell an attractive range of plain and patterned bed sheets in 3-piece sets made up on a standard sized pillow, fitted bottom sheet and a top sheet which is fitted at one end. For girls there are pinks and spotted purples, for boys, blues, ginghams and stripes. The sets are 100% cotton with a thread count of 220. If you opt to use a toddler pillow you would need to be handy with a needle and threat so that the pillow case fits the toddler pillow properly.

If you prefer a theme for your toddler bed sheets, then collections from Kids have a wide range of bed sheet sets (again, pillow case, fitted bottom sheet but with a flat top sheet). They also are made from 100% cotton and with a thread count of 210. The themes include Heros, dinosaurs, mermaids and there's plenty more to suit your toddler's interests!

Jersey Cotton
Jersey knit cotton is very soft on the skin and can be used all year round. aBaby sell individual 100% Jersey knit cotton sheets in a wide range of lovely colours and they are machine washable.

Flannel Cotton
Flannel cotton sheets are also available and your toddler my prefer their cosy feel in the colder months.

Polyester and cotton mix
You may prefer a fabric mix. However be aware that polyester can be less soft, have a scratchy feel to them and be less breathable.

Luxurious Egyptian Cotton
For the more luxurious feel take a look at the Eguptian Cotton Collection which uses 100% Egyptian cotton woven into a high thread count fabric. Even for toddlers you can buy a wide range of bedding sets or can buy fitted and flat sheets seperately.

This high quality cotton can be washed, but only in cold water with a mild detergent. They can be tumble dried on a low heat. Sheets made from Egyptian cotton can be a little stiff or crisp when you first use them but as you wash them they become softer. Ironing also helps to soften them too.

When buying toddler sheets always be sure to check the quality of the fabric. If you are buying online be sure to enquire what the cotton thread count is and check the percentages of polyester in any mixed fabric - the lower, the softer the material.

Toddler bed sheets need to be durable and practical. Check that they fit your toddler mattress properly so that the elastic corners do not ride up the mattress during the night. You might want to tuck in the top flat sheet when you say good night to help your toddler feel cosy.

Tucked up, snuggled in and time for sleep!
