Toddler Coloring Pages

Find toddler coloring pages online, print them out and you can add coloring to your indoor toddler activities. Coloring is fun, satisfying, imaginative, develops fine motor skills and at the end of it your toddler will have something to show for his efforts. You can also join in with this toddler activity - it's relaxing and you can share the joy of different colors with your toddler.

Fisher-price.com has a selection of toddler coloring pages that you can download and print off for free. They also have online coloring pages which are simple and your toddler would be able to achieve. You can then print it off. They also offer printable and cards to color in for all sorts of occasions. This may be a great activity to take on journeys or places where you need to wait a while, such as a doctors appointment.

If your toddler is interested in a certain character then there are so many to choose from e.g. spongebob squarepants coloring pages, shrek coloring pages, zoo animal coloring pages, winnie-the-pooh and so on. There will be coloring pages to match every toddler's interest!

Coloring needs to be acieveable to be fun. So make sure you have pencils that are sharpened, crayons that are thick (the thin ones break too easily) and felt tips that work. Felt tips run out quite quickly so do replace them and have more to hand. Encourage your toddler to always replace the lids so that they do not dry out. Your toddler can use paint too.

Using toddler coloring pages helps your toddler begin to gain some control over their hand movements which will help him when he comes to learn to write. Drawing free style is great too but wanting to make a certain green, such as Shrek's face, will help your toddler develop his hand-eye co-ordination.

Coloring also gives your toddler the opportunity to experiment - have you seen how funny a toddler thinks it is to make something the wrong color! It gives him the freedom to do something maybe he's not supposed to do yet there are no consequences at all.

You can join in either by sitting and coloring in another picture next to your child. Or sometimes your child might like you to draw a picture for him to color in! You don't need to be an artist to make a good enough picture - your toddler is likely just to love making something with you.

Interest in coloring will come and go but it's always something you can have around. As children develop they will strive to color in the pictures more neatly and exactly. Coloring is an activity that will be part of your child's play for years.in.
